Paintings and Sculpture
At the very beginning of Lockdown I opted to stockpile kilos of wet clay, bottles of turps and tubes of paint in preference to loo paper; I retreated to my Studio and began by creating the naughty pieces titled ‘Covid wild swimmers’.....simply because they reminded me that life could still be quirky and ridiculous in spite of all the misery!
However, the painting of portraits is my all consuming passion, and I just love trying to capture the pure, fresh faced innocence of small children, and their enthusiasm for life in their eyes.
The pandemic has prevented me from spending time, face to face, with my subjects so I now have to rely on photography - but actually this does also work very well.
And I would certainly love to accept any commissions should any parents, or Grandparents, be interested.
