SOLD OUT! After a brief introduction to the sustainable credentials and unlimited design potential of willow, Louise will show you how to lash two hoops together to form a rim and handle. There are various styles and choices for your lashing. You will learn how to weave supple willow rods to create pockets for thicker ribs to be added. These ribs will shape your basket and form the frame for further weaving. A full day of weaving can be tiring so make sure you bring a hearty lunch. The afternoon will be spent in a more mindful and rhythmic process of filling in the basket bowl. Although this course is suitable for beginners you will need manual dexterity and stamina. If you suffer from arthritis or joint issues such as carpel tunnel please discuss this with Louise before booking.
